Locating and Utilizing the Frostbitten Key in Grounded 2
In the chilly expanse of Brookhollow Park's Ice Cream Truck, a hidden treasure awaits adventurous players of Grounded 2. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to find and unlock this Buried Treasure using the Frostbitten Key.
Finding the Frostbitten Key
The Frostbitten Key can be found near the body of a dead Ominent employee in the southeast of Brookhollow Park. Be prepared for cold conditions as the area requires cold resistance to explore.
Uncovering the Buried Treasure
Once you've obtained the Frostbitten Key, follow these steps to uncover the Buried Treasure:
- Head to the upper levels of the Ice Cream Truck. Climb up the hill opposite the truck entrance.
- Walk across the copper pipe towards a lighted area.
- Enter the room with frozen fan blades.
- Break the icicles holding the fan in place.
- Climb on the fan blades, then drop down into a hidden cave underneath.
- Turn left and follow the tunnel behind a pipe to a large room filled with ice cream cones.
- Locate the glowing spot marked as "buried treasure" underneath a banana peel and dig there.
Use the Frostbitten Key on the chest to open it. This will reward you with two Mint Globs, which are used primarily to craft new Ice Sickles once you have their recipe.
Preparing for the Journey
- Wear the Fuzzy armor (made from Bee Fluff), as the area is very cold.
- Bring Blazin' Brew (made at a smoothie station from Spicy Candy) to resist cold effects.
- Carry a torch for extra warmth.
- Have the Omni-Shovel II for digging the buried treasure.
- Beware of poisonous scorpions in the area.
Additional Tips
- If you cannot open the chest immediately, you might need to complete an Ice Sickles challenge first, which you start at a glowing ice cube near the chest.
- Under the fan in the opened room is a tunnel going down - follow that to reach a large room where the Ice Sickles are found.
- You cannot take Grounded 2 Buggies into cold areas.
