In a bid to provide clarity, confidence, and immediate savings to customers considering a switch to electric cars, Leapmotor has launched its own EV discounts. This move comes as the UK government's Electric Vehicle (EV) incentive scheme is not yet available to consumers.

Leapmotor's initiative, dubbed the LEAP-GRANT program, is the first car manufacturer initiative in the UK since the government announced its own EV incentive scheme. The program offers direct price reductions on its electric cars, providing £1,500 off the T03 model and £3,750 off the C10 SUV. This move effectively matches the UK government's Electric Car Grant amounts, although Leapmotor's vehicles are not eligible for the government grant due to sustainability and manufacturing location criteria.

The LEAP-GRANT is now available across Leapmotor's dealer network, starting from today (18 July 2025). This proactive discounting aims to boost consumer confidence and immediate affordability in the UK EV market, as car buyers find themselves in a state of limbo, unsure of when or how to take advantage of the promised incentives.

The Leapmotor T03, the most affordable electric car in the UK at £14,495, remains so after the LEAP-GRANT discount. The C10 family SUV is now available for £32,750 after a £3,750 grant, or £319 per month with a £319 deposit on a 0% APR Personal Contract Purchase (PCP). The T03 is available for £169 per month with a £169 deposit on a 0% APR PCP deal.

It's worth noting that the Dacia Spring, a rival to the Leapmotor T03, currently costs £14,995 and is also offering 0% on a PCP. However, Leapmotor's approach creates clear pricing with upfront savings, contrasting with some consumer uncertainty about the government's grant rollout details—such as eligibility clarity and timing—with dealer systems for government grant claims not fully operational until August.

In summary, Leapmotor's LEAP-GRANT program mirrors the UK government EV incentive scheme's monetary savings but differs by being a manufacturer-funded price cut applicable regardless of official grant eligibility, thus enhancing affordability and clarity for buyers of Leapmotor's electric vehicles in the UK. Both the Leapmotor T03 and C10 models are backed by a four-year warranty, further boosting their appeal to potential buyers. The government's EV incentive scheme won't be available to consumers until next month.

Technology and cars intertwine in the LEAP-GRANT program, introduced by Leapmotor as a means to boost customer confidence and affordability in the electric vehicle (EV) market of the UK. With direct price reductions on their electric-vehicle offerings, the program provides £1,500 off the T03 model and £3,750 off the C10 SUV, mirroring the savings promised by the UK government's upcoming EV incentive scheme, but with immediate applicability regardless of official grant eligibility. This proactive approach bars potential customers from entering a state of limbo that comes with unclear grant rollout details and reduces the uncertainty associated with the UK government's grant eligibility criteria.
