In the world of automobiles, there's been a flurry of changes recently. Here's a round-up of some key developments:

Ather Energy introduces an updated 450S electric scooter

Ather Energy has expanded its electric scooter portfolio with the launch of a new version of the Ather 450S. This model now comes equipped with a larger 3.7 kWh battery pack, offering an IDC-certified range of 161 km per charge. The price for this new variant is approximately Rs 1.46 to 1.48 lakh (ex-showroom), varying slightly by city (Rs 1.46 lakh in Bengaluru and Rs 1.48 lakh in Delhi and Mumbai).

The new battery pack is the same as the one used in the premium Ather 450X, which allows this extended range previously exclusive to the 450X. The scooter retains a 5.4 kW motor delivering 22 Nm torque, offering spirited performance with features like four riding modes (Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, Sport). Key features remain consistent with the earlier model, including a 7-inch display, Bluetooth, turn-by-turn navigation, voice assistant, and safety tech such as AutoHold and Fall Safe. The updated model is priced more competitively than the 450X, targeting riders who want extended range without advanced software features.
