Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) took part in the Cospas-Sarsat International Search and Rescue Conference in Abu Dhabi, alongside representatives from 47 countries worldwide. According to the DGCA, the Kuwaiti delegation's participation was under the direction of its Director General, Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak Al-Hamoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and reflects the nation's dedication to fostering regional and international cooperation, knowledge-sharing, and bolstering national readiness in adherence to global best practices in search and rescue operations.

During the conference, the Kuwaiti delegation confirmed the State of Kuwait's resolve to fine-tune its national search and rescue system according to the standards and guidelines of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Cospas-Sarsat Organization. The aim is to amplify Kuwait's emergency response readiness across air, sea, and land domains.

Beyond the conference, the Kuwaiti officials engaged in coordination meetings with regional and international counterparts to explore avenues for cooperative efforts, exchanging know-how, and aligning national and international emergency response frameworks.

At the event's conclusion, the Kuwaiti delegation extended their gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for their generous hospitality and commendable organization of the international forum. Moreover, they praised the UAE's pivotal role in championing and advancing the global search and rescue infrastructure, emphasizing the significance of sustained alliances among member states to maintain optimal safety and operational readiness.

Comprising specialists and technical experts who specialize in search and rescue operations, the delegation included Dawood Al-Jarrah, Director of the Technical Office and Director of the Air Navigation Department at the DGCA, and Ahmed Boutiban, Head of the Radar, Search, and Rescue Department.

While embracing international collaboration, Kuwait is working diligently to enhance its national search and rescue system, leveraging advanced technologies and strengthening connections across the globe to improve response efficacy in emergency situations.
