IntelsatOne IP Expands Media Distribution Reach

In a significant move, the Universal Church has chosen IntelsatOne IP for primary and backup transport to distribute its English HD video and radio channels in Sub-Saharan Africa. This decision marks an expansion of Intelsat's media distribution network in the region.

The content distribution through IntelsatOne IP is not related to any advertisements or promotions, but rather focuses on providing a reliable and efficient means of distributing media content. This integration allows media customers to distribute content through a hybrid terrestrial-satellite connection, offering increased flexibility and reach.

MuxIP, a company that empowers media companies and content owners to create, distribute, and monetize FAST channels, will also be using IntelsatOne IP for satellite distribution in North America. MuxIP's channels, including World Poker Tour and Wild TV, will be transported via IntelsatOne IP to Intelsat's Mountainside teleport in Maryland for further distribution.

The content will be sent to Intelsat's FTA DTH platform for satellite distribution. This platform, which is not limited to any specific region, includes media companies such as iHeartMedia and VideaBroadcast, who also use IntelsatOne IP for satellite distribution of FAST channels in North America.

IntelsatOne IP offers customers more options for video distribution and contribution, and back-up and disaster recovery systems. This service, provided by Intelsat, is designed to increase the reach and flexibility of the Intelsat Global Hybrid Media Network.

Tom Link, Founder and CEO of MuxIP, expressed excitement about expanding Muxatl's satellite offering with new kinds of content. The channels are sent from the IntelsatOne IP PoP in Johannesburg, South Africa to the Fuchsstadt, Germany teleport for uplinking to Intelsat 20, allowing for global distribution.

IntelsatOne IP is integrated into Intelsat's hybrid terrestrial and satellite infrastructure, providing a new global IP software video management layer. This integration ensures seamless and efficient content distribution, making IntelsatOne IP a valuable asset in the media industry.
