Intella & Visa Team Up to Revolutionize Arabic Conversational AI for MENA Finance

Egypt-based intella, a pioneer in dialectal Arabic speech intelligence, has teamed up with global payments giant Visa to transform conversational AI for financial institutions across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The partnership aims to provide Visa's network with access to intella's full product ecosystem, starting with intellaCX, which converts unstructured call data into valuable insights.

Founded in 2021 by Nour AlTaher and Omar Mansour, intella specialises in building Arabic-first AI models for enterprise contact centers in the MENA region. The company's technology offers complete visibility by analysing every customer interaction with unparalleled dialectal accuracy, turning conversational data into actionable intelligence.

Visa Consulting & Analytics will co-develop and enrich conversational AI solutions tailored to the aspirations of financial institutions across the MENA region. Visa Implementation Services will lead the delivery and implementation of these solutions, expanding the capabilities of Arabic conversational AI. The collaboration will also pave the way for the adoption of Ziila, intella's advanced AI agent, to create next-generation, seamless customer experiences.

The partnership, which raised US$12.5 million in a Series A round last month, aims to co-develop innovative solutions that reflect the complexity and richness of the MENA's linguistic landscape, supporting over 25 distinct Arabic dialects. intella's suite of models includes a dialectal ASR engine and the conversational AI agent, Ziila, enabling businesses to analyse customer conversations and build next-generation customer experiences.

The collaboration between intella and Visa seeks to revolutionise conversational AI for financial institutions across the MENA region. By combining intella's Arabic-first AI models with Visa's global network and expertise, the partnership aims to provide innovative solutions that cater to the unique linguistic landscape of the MENA. This collaboration marks a significant step towards enhancing customer experiences and deepening enterprise capabilities in the region.
