Improvement in Workplace Mental Health Funded Through $35 Million Investment by Unmind
In a significant move to revolutionize workplace mental health, enterprise mental health platform Unmind has announced an investment from TELUS Global Ventures as part of a $35 million funding round. This investment is aimed at accelerating Unmind's mission of unleashing human potential at work.
The funding will be used to expand Unmind's services and markets, including the integration of proactive and reactive solutions such as therapy, coaching, science-backed content, and AI-powered tools like its generative AI companion, Nova. Nova, already in use by global brands, offers personalized guidance through targeted interactions, further differentiating Unmind in the enterprise mental health space.
In addition to broadening its service offerings, Unmind has appointed Laura Moniz de Aragao, formerly a sales leader at BetterUp, as its chief revenue officer. Moniz de Aragao will lead Unmind's go-to-market strategy and deepen partnerships, particularly focusing on growth in the U.S. market. Unmind currently serves major global clients like Uber, Samsung, Disney, and Diageo, reaching approximately 2.5 million employees.
Speaking about the investment, Terry Doyle, Managing Partner at TELUS Global Ventures, highlighted Unmind's product-led approach as strategic. He believes Unmind is well-positioned to address the growing demand for comprehensive mental health solutions in the workplace. Doyle also noted Unmind's innovative use of AI and data analytics, which aligns with TELUS' vision for the future of workplace mental health.
Unmind's CEO and co-founder, Dr. Nick Taylor, expressed his excitement about the investment, stating that it is a sign of confidence in Unmind's ability to make a significant impact in the field of workplace mental health. The investment is part of Unmind's strategy to expand and improve its mental health solutions for workplaces, aiming to change the way companies approach mental health by blending expert care with smart technology to reach millions of people around the world.
Unmind has raised a total of $82 million from investors like Project A, Felix Capital, and Sapphire Ventures. This latest investment from TELUS Global Ventures is a testament to Unmind's commitment to improving organizational health and employee wellbeing on a global scale. The investment is expected to support Unmind’s integrated Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and expand its reach to more employees globally, building healthier and more productive workplaces.
