In a significant move, Geomagical Labs, a dynamic team of serial entrepreneurs, engineers, computer vision & AI researchers, and graphics engineers, is seeking a Web Engineering Tech Lead for their groundbreaking IKEA Kreativ 3D+AI app. This role offers a highly-visible product used by tens of millions.
The successful candidate will be based in the USA and able to adjust their calendar for meetings with Europe. They will be responsible for leading a 5-person web development team, designing and building innovative features that connect the UI, 3D engines, AI pipelines, and cloud microservices, and solving complex front-end technical challenges.
The main responsibility of the web engineering tech lead is to drive the cultural values & leadership principles of Geomagical Labs while ensuring an integrated IKEA user experience. The role requires promoting best practices for stability and velocity, coordinating roadmaps with distributed teams, and being the go-to expert for challenging front-end tech issues.
Required skills and qualifications include strong Computer Science foundations, expert proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React development, mastery of Internet technologies and modern web stacks, at least 5 years of experience in engineering full-stack codebases in production, successful experience leading tech teams of 3 or more people on important projects, and familiarity with web DevOps, continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD), and quality assurance (QA).
Bonus skills include experience with consumer internet apps, 3D graphics programming, and startup environments.
