Hub Expands for Electric Vehicle Charging at Largest Scale in U.S.A., Located Near LAX by bp Pulse
bp pulse and Hertz Unveil Largest EV Charging Hub near Los Angeles International Airport
bp pulse, in partnership with Hertz, has announced the opening of its most significant electric vehicle (EV) charging hub in the U.S., located just two miles from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). This new charging station is designed to cater to ride-hail drivers, rental car customers, and local EV drivers, marking a significant step forward in California's transition to clean, electric transportation.
The LAX hub boasts an impressive 48 DC fast charging bays, equipped with a mix of 400 kW and 150 kW chargers. This diverse setup ensures that a broad range of EVs can be charged efficiently. The charging station also supports both CCS and NACS connectors, further broadening its accessibility.
Amenities at the LAX hub include a lounge, vending machines, restrooms, and soon free WiFi, making it a comfortable and convenient stop for EV drivers. The prime location near the airport and the hub's ultrafast charging capabilities will help drivers stay powered up and on the road.
The LAX charging hub is part of bp pulse and Hertz's broader strategy to develop more EV charging hubs near airports and other high-traffic areas. Previous hubs have already been opened near San Francisco International Airport and Boston Logan Airport. The goal is to create a nationwide charging ecosystem that supports clean transportation and meets the growing demand for EVs.
Daria Holbrook, EVP Mobility at Hertz, emphasised the importance of the new bp pulse hub near LAX for supporting rideshare drivers' daily operations. The project is a model for public-private partnerships aiming to accelerate innovation and improve air quality.
bp pulse continues to deploy ultrafast chargers across its broader US network, including bp retail sites and new destinations. The LAX hub provides fast charging infrastructure where it is most needed, serving as a prime example of bp pulse's national expansion strategy.
This development is a milestone in California's transition to a clean, electric transportation future and underscores the growing momentum towards a sustainable, electric mobility landscape.
