Huawei-supported Luxeed set to commence pre-orders for revised versions of two current products on August 8th
Huawei's Luxeed S7 and R7 Models Get an Upgrade: Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and More
Huawei's Luxeed brand is set to relaunch updated versions of its S7 sedan and R7 coupe SUV in September 2024. These vehicles will come equipped with Huawei's ADS 4 smart driving system and a 192-channel roof-mounted LiDAR, as part of their advanced driver assistance hardware.
The ADS 4 system integrates data from the LiDAR and radars, providing enhanced autonomous driving capabilities. The roof-mounted LiDAR offers detailed environmental scanning, improving safety and obstacle detection with a range of up to 250 meters. The R7 and S7 models will also feature rear-facing high-precision solid-state LiDAR and five 4D millimeter-wave radars, aiming to offer one of the most powerful driver assistance systems in China.
The R7, Luxeed’s first coupe SUV model under Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), will be available in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants. Prices for the R7 are expected to range from approximately RMB 249,800 to RMB 339,800 (~$34,800 to $47,200 USD). The S7, Luxeed’s pure electric sedan, is likely to be priced comparably.
Luxeed is an independent new energy vehicle brand backed by Huawei and Chery, with a focus on smart driving and electric mobility. With over RMB 10 billion invested and a dedicated 5,000-person R&D team, Luxeed represents a significant step forward in integrating Huawei’s proprietary driving assistance and battery technologies in affordable NEVs designed for the Chinese market.
The launch of these updated models marks a milestone for Luxeed, with the brand having already reached the milestone of 100,000 deliveries. The official launch is expected in September, following the launch of the Luxeed S7 pure electric sedan on November 28, 2023.
