Huawei and Chery have agreed to progress their joint brand, Luxeed, to the next stage, labeled as 'Phase 2.0'
In the ever-evolving world of automotive technology, Huawei-backed Luxeed is preparing to make a significant splash with the launch of their latest offering, the Stelato S9T. This 5.2-meter long wagon is set to begin pre-sales on August 18, 2025, marking a new chapter for the brand.
The Stelato S9T boasts a tech-forward interior, featuring a horizontal dashboard, a large central touchscreen, and a passenger display, setting it apart in the MPV market segment. This focus on advanced technology extends to its powertrains, with two variants available: an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) and a pure Electric Vehicle (EV).
The EREV variant is equipped with a 1.5T engine producing 118 kW (158 hp). It offers battery options of 37kWh or 53.4kWh, providing a CLTC pure electric range of up to 354 km and a combined range of up to 1305 km. On the other hand, the EV version features a single-motor delivering 227 kW (304 hp) and a 100kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC range of up to 801 km.
The Stelato S9T's launch is part of a larger collaboration between Huawei and Luxeed, as they move forward with their jointly created new car brand. This agreement, signed in Shenzhen, where Huawei is headquartered, marks the beginning of "Phase 2.0" for the brand.
Luxeed's journey doesn't stop with the Stelato S9T. The brand, which launched its first model, the Luxeed S7 pure electric sedan on November 28, 2023, is also developing an MPV model, expected to be the first MPV under the HIMA business. The brand is investing over RMB 10 billion ($1.4 billion) for technological development, aiming to expand its R&D team to 5,000 people.
As the automotive industry continues to evolve, Luxeed's Stelato S9T promises to be a competitive and technologically equipped electric MPV, set to make its mark in the near future. With its pre-sales starting on August 18, 2025, customers will soon have the opportunity to experience this innovative vehicle firsthand.
