High-performance sports cars’ best picks: Ford Mustang impresses Germany's high-speed aficionados

In the world of used sports cars, Germany stands out as a hub for enthusiasts, with popular brands such as BMW M series, Porsche, Audi RS models, and Mercedes-AMG gracing the market. However, a recent analysis by AutoScout24, a leading online platform for used car shopping in Germany, has shed light on the top 5 most popular used sports cars in the country, albeit without a direct listing.

Despite the lack of a specific top 5 list, the analysis reveals some intriguing trends. The BMW Z4, for instance, is available at a significantly lower price than the M3, with an average asking price of 27,969 euros. The average age of a used BMW Z4 is around eleven years, and the average mileage is around 85,000 kilometers.

One of the most striking findings is the price fluctuations among the top 5 models. The Audi TT, for example, has experienced a 18.5% decrease in value from July 2024 to July 2025, making it the cheapest model in the top 5, with an average price of 18,896 euros. Conversely, the Porsche 911 is the most expensive, with an average price of 111,013 euros, a 1.5% increase from the previous year.

Four German-made vehicles are in the top 5 ranking, with the Ford Mustang being the exception. The Mustang, despite a 6% decrease in price from the previous year, remains the most popular used sports car in Germany, based on purchase inquiries on AutoScout24 in the first half of 2025.

Interestingly, the Audi TT, despite not being in production anymore, is still in demand and holds the second place in the popularity ranking of sports cars. BMW is represented with two models in the top 5: the BMW M3 and the BMW Z4.

The supply of used sports cars has decreased by around 8% in the same period, yet the average price of sports cars has hardly changed compared to July 2024/25. This could be a sign of a growing demand for these vehicles, despite the reduced supply.

For precise and up-to-date rankings or top 5 listings of used sports cars, visiting AutoScout24’s official website or their July 2025 reports, if published, would be necessary. The AutoScout24 MI Top 5 Sport Models.pdf, a document containing the analysis of the most popular used sports cars in Germany based on purchase inquiries on its platform in the first half of 2025, offers further insights into this fascinating market.
