Hauck & Aufhäuser Bolsters Digital Assets Team with Two Key Appointments

Hauck & Aufhäuser, a prominent private bank in Germany, has revealed two significant appointments in its digital assets division. Simon Seiter will join as Head of Digital Assets, while Stephan Edelmann will assume the role of CEO at Hauck & Aufhäuser Innovative Capital, the bank's investment company specializing in digital assets.

Simon Seiter brings extensive experience to his new position. Previously, he served at Deutsche Börse as Head of Digital Assets, where he played a crucial role in developing infrastructures for digital assets based on blockchain technology. Most recently, he was involved in the issuance of blockchain-based securities and the launch of the digital euro at Commerzbank Consulting.

In his new role at Hauck & Aufhäuser, Seiter will oversee the development and expansion of the bank's product and service range in the digital assets area, driving business development in this field.

Stephan Edelmann, the incoming CEO, has a strong background in management positions. He spent eight years at BNY Mellon Service-KVG in Frankfurt, most recently serving as CEO. At Hauck & Aufhäuser, he will assume overall responsibility for the operational area of the investment company for digital assets, including risk and outsourcing control, fund reporting, digital fund accounting, and compliance. He succeeds Dr. Philipp Wösthoff, who will focus on his tasks in the legal department and the board secretariat of the bank.

Both Seiter and Edelmann will commence their roles on October 1, 2021.

These appointments underscore Hauck & Aufhäuser's commitment to bolstering its digital assets capabilities. With Seiter's expertise in digital assets and Edelmann's management experience, the bank is well-positioned to grow in this rapidly evolving field.
