Boris FX Unveils 2020 Product Releases at IBC Amsterdam
Prepare for an exciting lineup of updates and new features from Boris FX at this year's International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam. From September 13th to 17th, visit Stand 7.A65 in the Exhibit Hall to see sneak peeks of the 2020 releases for Sapphire, Continuum, Mocha Pro, Silhouette, and the newly integrated Digital Film Tools.
Sapphire 2020 shines with a revamped and enhanced LensFlare and Flare Designer, a new PixelSort digital glitch art effect, a WhipLash transition, and an animating shape tool for its Effect and Transition Builder. The release also introduces a Mocha Essentials workspace with improved spline tools like magnetic edge snapping, all aimed at optimized CPU and GPU performance for faster rendering and real-time previews.
Mocha Pro 2020 boasts updates that enhance its planar tracking and masking capabilities, tightly integrated with Boris FX’s plugin suites. The Area Brush interactive spline tool is a new feature, allowing for paint-like functionality. Additionally, Mocha Pro 2020 now supports GStreamer media and OpenColor IO, reducing Apple Quicktime reliance and providing greater versatility in the standalone application.
Silhouette 2020 benefits from new machine learning tools, improving rotoscoping and paint workflows with AI-assisted features. Key new features include Auto-paint replay, Brush compare modes, Dodge, Burn, and Detail brushes, and Paint detail separation.
Digital Film Tools, new to Boris FX, is a product line for professional photographers and digital artists, featuring over 100 filters and thousands of presets.
Continuum 2020 includes 12 new transitions with over 50 professionally-designed presets. New effects include BCC_ReflectImage, BCC_CastShadow, BCC_Curl, and the Mocha-powered BCC_CornerPin. The release adds over 15 new effects and transitions, further expanding its comprehensive VFX plugins.
