As of today, Gopuff customers across the country can use SNAP EBT benefits to pay for groceries across various shopping channels.
The partnership between Gopuff and Uber Eats has proven beneficial for SNAP recipients, with early data showing meaningful reach in vulnerable populations. For instance, 17% of Gopuff SNAP deliveries have been made to customers living in food deserts, 25% to areas with high senior populations, and 55% to areas with more people with disabilities.
Moreover, SNAP customers on Gopuff order more frequently and purchase more items per order than non-SNAP customers, indicating strong adoption and dependence. In fact, SNAP customers check out with 62% more items per order, resulting in a 22% higher spend.
To incentivise SNAP users, the partnership offers benefits such as $0 delivery fees on the first three SNAP-eligible orders and limited-time free trials of Uber One. Uber's Head of grocery and retail for North America, Hashim Amin, stated that expanding SNAP EBT payments across Uber Eats is a critical step in their mission to make food more accessible for everyone.
