Google Launches Search Live for Ongoing Conversations
Google has rolled out Search Live, a new feature in its iOS and Android apps. This innovation allows users to engage in ongoing conversations with Google, even when they switch away from the app. Search Live, powered by a tailored version of Gemini, boasts advanced voice processing. It operates in the background, letting conversations persist even when users navigate elsewhere. A 'Transcript' option offers a text-based alternative. Users can initiate a conversational search by opening the Google app and tapping the 'Live' icon. They can then vocalize their query, with related web content links displayed on the screen. Google's Search division within AI and Search teams spearheaded this development. The 'AI Mode history' feature enables users to review past responses and pick up conversations from earlier points. Search Live is currently exclusive to U.S. users participating in Google Labs' AI Mode experiment. It promises a seamless, voice-based dialogue with Google, enhancing user interaction and convenience.
