K-pop Demon Hunters Soundtrack Soars to New Heights on UK Compilations Chart and Netflix

The K-pop Demon Hunters soundtrack, a fusion of K-pop music, anime-inspired battle themes, and cinematic orchestration, has been dominating both the UK compilations chart and Netflix, thanks to its massive global impact, strong streaming performance, and crossover appeal.

Released digitally by Republic Records on June 20, 2025, the soundtrack has maintained a five-week run at No. 1 on the UK compilations chart. In its latest chart week, it earned its biggest weekly consumption to date, driven by heavy streaming and rising demand without any physical release.

The success factors for the soundtrack include strong streaming growth, global chart dominance, broad appeal, and Netflix's global platform. The soundtrack surged by 23.1% week-on-week in the UK, adding over 14,000 chart units, and is approaching silver certification with over 48,000 units to date.

In the US and globally, tracks from the soundtrack top Spotify charts. Huntr/x’s "Golden" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. US charts, marking the first fictional act to do so. The Saja Boys’ songs also hit top 10 in these charts, surpassing iconic K-pop acts such as Blackpink and BTS on Spotify’s US charts.

The soundtrack's broad appeal is evident in its fusion of genres, appealing to both K-pop fans and audiences interested in anime and gaming cultures. This genre-blending element adds to the soundtrack’s widespread popularity, distinguishing it from typical animated film soundtracks.

Netflix's global platform has also played a significant role in the soundtrack's success. The animated film "K-pop Demon Hunters" released on Netflix has enjoyed huge global success, fueling demand for the soundtrack. Unlike typical animated musicals that rely on a standout song or two, this project is a full musical phenomenon reminiscent of the success of the "Encanto" soundtrack, with multiple songs charting simultaneously.

During Netflix's Q2 earnings call, co-CEO, president & director Ted Sarandos noted the success and continuing impact of the K-pop Demon Hunters music. He recognized the audio streaming impact of "Golden" and Soda Pop songs from the soundtrack, stating that the music from K-pop Demon Hunters will drive fandom for the fictional K-pop band featured in the movie.

In addition to the soundtrack's No. 1 position on the UK compilations chart, several tracks have also charted. "Golden" by the K-pop Demon Hunters Cast reached a new peak of No. 5 in the UK singles chart, while Your Idol by Saja Boys, Andrew Choi, Neckwav, Danny Chung, Kevin Woo, and SamUil Lee reached No. 14. Soda Pop by the same performers entered the UK compilation chart at No. 17.

With its continued success, the K-pop Demon Hunters soundtrack is rapidly approaching silver certification (60,000 units). The story of its success is a testament to the power of a dynamic and diverse musical offering that broke streaming and chart records and the crossover appeal blending K-pop with anime and gaming cultures, leading to its dominance on UK compilations and international music charts.
