German Authorities Foil Illegal Entry Attempts, Seize Forged Docs

German authorities have foiled several illegal entry attempts into the country, revealing a network of forged documents and benefit fraud. Two men, one from Syria and another from Afghanistan, were apprehended, along with an Afghan woman and her family members.

The Syrian man was caught attempting to enter Germany using forged papers, claiming to be Moroccan. He admitted to purchasing the fake documents, flight, and bus tickets for 5,500 euros from an unknown smuggler in Athens. He was charged with attempted illegal entry and forgery, and sent back to Austria.

The Federal Police Inspectorate Kempten, responsible for protecting the Schengen internal border to Austria over 220 kilometers, apprehended two intercity bus passengers at the border crossing Hörbranz (A96) for attempting illegal entry. Meanwhile, an Afghan woman was found to have applied for asylum in Germany while possessing valid Italian refugee documents. She was charged with attempted illegal entry and benefit fraud, and her Italian papers were confiscated.

Investigations revealed that the Afghan woman's mother and sister, also in the German asylum process, were receiving benefits despite having Italian refugee documents. The responsibility for investigating the alleged fraud accusations against the three women lies with the prosecutor's office, supported by the Federal Police.

These incidents highlight the ongoing challenge of preventing irregular migration and cross-border crime. Authorities remain vigilant in protecting the Schengen internal border and investigating suspected fraud cases.
