Fujitsu Unveils Slim, Colorful Digital Reading Device
Fresh Take:
Groundbreaking news in the world of e-readers has surfaced! Japanese electronics titan, Fujitsu, unveils their latest creation - a dazzling color display e-reader. This bad boy is rumored to be a prototype for Fujitsu's upcoming premier in the color e-reader arena. Alas, the tech specs were kept under wraps during the unveiling event.
Our memories drift back to Fujitsu's previous release, roughly a year ago, which boasted a 768×1024 display and 260,000 color reproduction. The e-reader, cleverly named "Flepia," showcased a touch-sensitive screen and required a stylus for interaction. Flepia also sported Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, though it came at a hefty price tag of $1000. Sadly, Flepia remained a mystery to North America's shores, but who knows, the new e-reader might be the trailblazer for Fujitsu's future in the e-reader realm. With Flepia's captivating tech specs, it's safe to assume the upcoming e-reader will pack a punch with plenty of innovative features to flaunt.

Insider's Insight
The long-awaited third-generation Fujitsu Quaderno A4 Color e-reader is on the horizon! Packing a 13.3-inch Kaleido 3 flexible screen, it promises a monochrome resolution of 1650 × 2200 pixels (207 DPI). When displaying colors, the resolution dips to 103 DPI with the capacity to show 4096 colors, albeit users are limited to just eight colors for annotations.
The official launch was announced in early 2025, with the third-generation Quaderno aimed at the Japanese market, although imports can be made via the Fujitsu Quaderno Store. As of now, a broader global launch date hasn't been confirmed.
Unlike its predecessors, the Quaderno e-readers are built on Android but are deprived of access to the Google Play Store, limiting the installation of popular apps. However, it comes with a stylus and offers support for Bluetooth pedals, making it suitable for sheet music enthusiasts, despite its limited availability outside Japan.
