Ford Unveils Fiesta ST200: A 212bhp Anniversary Special

Ford introduced the Fiesta ST200 in 2016, a special edition of the Mk7 Fiesta ST celebrating the model's 40th anniversary. This limited-run version boasted an impressive power boost and chassis upgrades.

The ST200's 1.6-litre turbocharged engine was tuned to deliver 212bhp on overboost in third and fourth gear, with peak torque rising to 236lb ft. This enhanced performance was complemented by chassis modifications for improved handling and ride quality.

Softer springs and dampers were fitted to provide a more comfortable ride. Meanwhile, the front anti-roll bar and rear torsion beam stiffness were increased by 33%, reducing body roll and enhancing cornering agility. These changes were later adopted into the standard Mk7 Fiesta ST.

While there's no specific information about a chief engineer solely responsible for the ST200's development, Stefan Mütze led the development of the Ford Fiesta ST and oversaw special models within the program. However, his direct involvement in the ST200 is not publicly confirmed. Developing a vehicle like the ST200 requires the collaboration of many engineers and teams, making it challenging to attribute the model's creation to a single individual.

The Ford Fiesta ST200 offered enhanced performance and handling, thanks to its power boost and chassis upgrades. Although the specific chief engineer behind its development remains unclear, the ST200 stands as a testament to Ford's commitment to delivering exciting, limited-run models within their iconic Fiesta range.
