European Union Internet Promotion Initiative Unveiled by the European Commission

In a significant move towards recognizing and celebrating corporate sustainability, six Italian companies listed on the Milan Stock Exchange were awarded for their unwavering commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. The awards were presented during the web event "Sustainability 2.0: a perspective beyond regulations", reflecting a shift towards digital events due to current circumstances.

The ESG Observatory on listed companies in Piazza Affari, a project of the Study Center of a specific website and the editorial staff of Plus24, selected the companies based on their consistent participation in the observatory for at least two consecutive years in the last three years. The companies were chosen for their exceptional performance in the areas of Awareness, Monitoring, and Governance, as calculated by the University of Bicocca in Milan.

One of the notable companies on the list is Enel, an Italian energy company, which is renowned for its strong ESG performance. Enel has achieved high ESG scores, placing it ahead of 99% of its competitors. However, the exact list of companies recognized by the ESG Observatory has not been publicly disclosed as of now. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it might be necessary to contact the observatory directly or check their official communications.

The von der Leyen Commission in Brussels is planning to make a significant cut to green directives and regulations. Despite this, these Italian companies seem undeterred in their pursuit of sustainability. The business world often grapples with a tangled web of rules to follow and consulting fees related to sustainability. The perception of sustainability is often associated with costs, bureaucracy, and excessive compliance.

However, the awards serve as a testament to the possibility of successful sustainability initiatives in the business world, despite the perceived costs, bureaucracy, and excessive compliance. The event aimed to highlight a perspective on sustainability that goes beyond regulations, emphasizing the importance of voluntary commitment and continuous improvement in the realm of ESG.

The ESG Observatory's selection of six Italian companies for their awards, acknowledging their exceptional performance, is a demonstration of how other businesses can embrace an alternative lifestyle that combines technology with sports, in pursuit of corporate sustainability. Enel, one of the recognized companies, showcases this by excelling in ESG principles, positioning themselves ahead of most competitors in this field.
