European Union Commission awards financing for solar technology development within our organization
Sono Group N.V., a pioneering company in vehicle integrated photovoltaics (ViPV), has embarked on an ambitious mission to accelerate the revolution of mobility by making every vehicle solar. As part of this mission, Sono Group has been awarded a grant by the European Commission to develop automated photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing equipment through the SEAMLESS-PV project.
The SEAMLESS-PV project aims to demonstrate the cost-efficiency of Sono’s proprietary solar technology across different sectors, including industrial, commercial, and remote sites. By scaling up production through automation, the project hopes to reduce costs, increase quality, and accelerate the deployment of solar energy solutions.
The project, which will last for four years, focuses on addressing the industrialization of novel manufacturing processes. The funding, amounting to €1.46 million, will only be used for activities related to the project as agreed with the project partners and the European Commission.
Sono Group N.V. has already acquired 23 partners for this venture, including Scania, CHEREAU, Rhenus Logistics, Mitsubishi Europe, and Munich's public transport provider MVG. The company's proprietary solar technology is engineered to be seamlessly integrated into a variety of vehicle architectures, extending range, reducing fuel costs, and reducing CO2 emissions, paving the way for climate-friendly mobility.
In addition to the SEAMLESS-PV project, Sono Group N.V.'s B2B solar business continues to generate revenue by integrating its proprietary solar technology into vehicles from other manufacturers, such as buses, trailers, trucks, and camper vans.
Sono Group N.V.'s stock is traded on the OTCQB under the symbol SEVCF. It is important to note that reservations for Sono Group N.V.'s solar electric vehicle Sion can only be made by persons located in 27 European jurisdictions and not from persons located in any other country or U.S. persons.
As solar continues to be a dominant growth area in renewable energy, innovations that reduce solar costs and improve manufacturing are crucial. The SEAMLESS-PV project's objectives align with the need for automation in PV manufacturing to meet growing global demand and achieve cost reductions necessary to scale solar deployment efficiently.
However, as of the latest available information, detailed specifics on the exact progress milestones or demonstration outcomes of the SEAMLESS-PV project itself with Sono Group N.V. have not been disclosed. For more detailed project-specific information, consulting Sono Group’s official communications or dedicated renewable energy project databases may be necessary.
The SEAMLESS-PV project, aiming to showcase the cost-efficiency of Sono Group's solar technology in various sectors like industry and commercial sites, plans to achieve this through automation, which is expected to lower costs, enhance quality, and expedite solar energy solution deployment. simultaneously, Sono Group is collaborating with several international partners, including technology giants in the field of transport and logistics, to integrate its revolutionary solar technology into vehicles, thereby reducing fuel costs, lowering CO2 emissions, and contributing to the advancement of environmental-science and finance in the realm of renewable energy and climate-friendly mobility.
