European DeepTech ventures secured €112m in their initial funding round from Omnes Capital, marking the first close for Real Tech 2.
In a significant move to bolster the European deeptech sector, Omnes Capital has announced the launch of its second DeepTech-focused fund, Omnes Real Tech 2. This new fund aims to support early-stage European technology companies, particularly those in foundational and strategically important sectors such as defence and security, artificial intelligence, new space, quantum technology, electronic components, and advanced materials.
The fund, which has already secured €112 million in its first close, is noteworthy as it is the first in Europe to benefit from the European Union's defence mandate. This strategic emphasis on technologies vital for Europe’s security and economic resilience reflects Omnes Capital's commitment to driving innovation and growth in the deeptech sector.
Omnes Real Tech 2 builds on the success of the firm's inaugural DeepTech vehicle, which helped portfolio companies like The Exploration Company, Sekoia.io, Quantum Systems, and Quandela become industry leaders. The new fund will continue to leverage Omnes Capital's expertise in scaling innovation, supporting international expansion, and industrialising R&D to drive the performance of its second DeepTech fund.
Geographically, Omnes Real Tech 2 places a particular focus on Germany and Italy. The investment strategy includes providing continued support through multiple growth phases, including follow-on investments, to help companies scale both industrially and internationally.
Hélène Huby, founder of The Exploration Company, praised Omnes for its speed, long-term commitment, and role in building Europe's DeepTech ecosystem. The fund has attracted backing from major European institutional investors such as Bpifrance, France 2030, the European Investment Fund (InvestEU Defence mandate), BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole Assurances, and family offices.
Omnes Capital manages more than €6.7 billion in assets under management and invests across renewable energy, sustainable cities, DeepTech, and co-investment strategies. The firm's second DeepTech fund, Omnes Real Tech 2, plans to reach a final close in 2026.
