Ethereum Shifts Focus to User-Centric Development with Ethereum Applications Guild

Ethereum's focus is shifting towards user-centric development, thanks to the newly formed Ethereum Applications Guild (EAG). This initiative, launched by HashKey Group's Xiao Fan and Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, aims to hasten technology adoption in areas like DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, and gaming.

EAG, established on October 2, 2025, is not an open initiative but an incubator hub based on Xiao Fan's 2023 Shanhaiwu project. It invites global teams and operates with a decentralized management structure, aligning with Ethereum's community self-governance spirit.

EAG's goal is to accelerate the creation and adoption of native Ethereum apps through open, transparent, and sustainable collaboration. This comes at a time when Ethereum's market cap is around $500 billion, with its native token trading at approximately $4,180. In the DeFi sector alone, Ethereum has $50-$60 billion locked in, with an average of 1.2 million transactions per day.

Led by Vitalik Buterin and Xiao Fan, EAG is expected to drive Ethereum's user-centric development and promote global adoption of decentralized apps. Despite no official collaborations announced yet, EAG's influence is poised to grow, given its founders' reputations and Ethereum's substantial market presence.
