Enhancement to beloved 2024 instrument: Polyend introduces experimental sample engine to Synth

Get Ready to Shred *Superbooth 25 - Polyend Synth Explosion: This Bad Boy dropped in late 2024, and it's been a frickin' game-changer ever since*. Unlike other Polyend grooveboxes, such as the Tracker and Play, which are all about that groove sequencing, this Synth bastard is all about raw, wild playability.

Featuring three multi-purpose synth engines, this bad boy is controlled using an adaptable grid of poly-aftertouch pads for your tactile pleasure. Say goodbye to stiff, unresponsive synths, because this beast makes you feel like a goddamn maestro.

But the real fun starts with the latest Superbooth update, which unleashes a brand-new engine upon the unsuspecting world – the DWA, or Dual Wave Architecture. This beauty uses two sample-based oscillators to create a symphony of playable textures and experimental patches.

The DWA lets you cross-mix, loop, reverse, and even randomize the two samples at your command. You can modulate the start and end points and loop positions using Synth's LFOs or envelopes, and even manipulate them on-the-fly with the instrument's control rotaries.

The DWA engine is loaded with a feedback loop for each sample – providing delays, chorus/flanger effects, or whatever sonic wonders you can conjure up. The delay times can be modulated to create stuttering rhythmic effects, or set to track MIDI pitches to create tunable, pitch-dependent effects at your fingertips.

The DWA engine doesn't skimp on the good stuff – there's also a multimode filter, two LFOs, and three envelope generators. And, as with other engines, all parameters can be controlled by the instrument's polyphonic aftertouch to add expressive depth to your performance.

This update doesn't skimp either: it comes complete with a pack of 100 samples and a decent serving of presets to get you started. If you're feeling like a sonic god (who isn't?), you can upload your own samples and experiment with them until your heart's content.

Karol Celiński, the resident Polyend developer, had this to say about the new engine: "Many users were hounding us for a sample-based synth engine, so we decided to give them something more than just a basic playback. I've always been fascinated with how Andy Stott crafts immersive tracks from a limited number of carefully sculpted samples, and that influenced the design of our DWA engine."

The 1.3 update also brings a host of other new features, refinements, and bug fixes. For starters, you can customize the color-coding of the grid, making your performance aesthetically pleasing as well as ear-pleasing. You can also choose from new grid layouts for seamless multitasking while juggling Synth's three engines.

There's also expanded MIDI capabilities, with a new MIDI Engine that allows users to save and load custom CC mappings. You can even use poly aftertouch and channel pressure with external devices for a unified, expressive performance.

Get ready to dive into the DWA and explore the vast sonic landscapes it offers. It's a breath of fresh, experimental air in the realm of digital synthesis. The update and content pack is available for download from the Polyend website, so grab it now and become a sonic mastermind. Synth itself is up for grabs right now for the ridiculously low price of $549. Indulge in the sensory overload – it's time to become one with the synth.

In the realm of music technology, the Polyend Synth is revolutionizing the industry with its innovative Dual Wave Architecture (DWA) engine, offering an immersive experience for creating playable textures and experimental patches. Embrace the future of electronic music by accessing this game-changing gadget.

Experience the seamless integration of technology and creativity as you manipulate the DWA's sample-based oscillators, featuring cross-mixing, looping, reversing, and randomizing capabilities.
