Enhanced Technologies Yield Superior Outcomes
Deceuninck North America's headquarters has undergone a significant transformation, thanks to the installation of a state-of-the-art networked AV and control system by Techkinect. The project, which started as a request for new projectors, evolved into a larger-scale overhaul, creating a flexible and technologically advanced meeting space.
At the heart of the system are Atlona's single-channel encoders and decoders (AT-OMNI-111, AT-OMNI-121) and a dual-channel encoder (AT-OMNI-112), which handle HDMI signals. Atlona's OmniStream AV over IP solutions were utilised for routing multiple devices in each space, ensuring seamless connectivity. Techkinect's schematic identified equipment in each room, including IP and Mac addresses, as well as the port each product is plugged into on the switch and patch panel.
Three BenQ LU930 projectors and three DragonFly 120-inch recessed screens were used for video distribution, providing high-quality visuals for presentations and meetings. The cabling was run in abundance to accommodate future additions such as cameras and microphones, demonstrating the system's scalability.
The audio system was designed with performance in mind. ClearOne Converge Pro 2 DSP mixers were used for mixing and processing audio signals from various microphones and sources. Atlona AT-GAIN-60 amplifiers power a total of eight Episode ECS-800-IC-6 70-volt ceiling speakers, ensuring clear and immersive sound in each room. Techkinect emphasised the performance aspect of the audio system, with ClearOne's voice tracking technology and Atlona's amplification optimising audio in each room.
The three-way divisible space in the meeting room was created by the Deceuninck team, who remodelled the room using acoustic walls. Each room in the space has the same audio and video, but only two have microphones and cameras. AT-VTP-1000VL touchpanels were added in all three rooms for room scheduling and AV control, with a custom programmed user interface from Techkinect's design team.
Techkinect also ran new Category cabling to each location for simplified computer connections. USB signals were routed over the network using USB to IP adapters for host devices (AT-OMNI-311) and IP to USB adapters (AT-OMNI-324) for peripheral devices. All technology components are programmed into Atlona's Velocity control system, with an expandable AT-VGW-HW-20 hardware gateway.
The benefits of networked AV and control systems, as demonstrated in this case study, include scalability and flexibility, simplified integration and control, enhanced collaboration, cost efficiency, high performance and reliability, and future-proofing. These systems support hybrid and decentralized workflows, reducing cable clutter, hardware complexity, and points of failure, while enabling seamless control across various AV devices. The headquarters can easily upgrade and expand as technology advances, avoiding costly overhauls.
This aligns with broader industry trends where IP-based, networked AV systems enhance operational efficiency and user experience in corporate environments, as reflected in recent advances in AV networking technologies and examples from large-scale venues and broadcast settings.
