In the picturesque Harz district of Germany, Deutsche Telekom is set to upgrade 54 existing mobile network sites, with an additional 112 sites planned by 2026. This expansion aims to improve coverage along the A9 and railway line, as well as increase the mobile coverage area in the district.

The sites are located in the municipalities of Halberstadt (2) and Pansfelde. Deutsche Telekom's spokesperson, Georg von Wagner, has highlighted the increasing demand for bandwidth, which is growing by around 30 percent per year.

This expansion forms part of Telekom's ongoing efforts to improve mobile network coverage in various regions. The project includes the construction of a new site and upgrades of two existing sites with LTE technology. As a result, Telekom now operates 116 sites in the Harz district, with household coverage estimated at around 99 percent.
