**Mazda's 2026 CX-5: A Leap Forward in Technology and Comfort**

Mazda is set to revolutionise its popular CX-5 crossover SUV with the introduction of its 2026 model. The latest iteration promises a host of improvements, from a sleek new design to cutting-edge technology, all aimed at enhancing the driving experience for its customers.

At the heart of this transformation lies the **new infotainment system**, featuring a **15.6-inch integrated touchscreen display**, the largest ever offered by Mazda. This system represents a significant shift from traditional, button-heavy interfaces, moving towards a modern, minimalist, and technologically advanced cabin environment.

Google services are at the forefront of this upgrade. The infotainment system boasts **Google built-in integration**, allowing direct access to Google apps and services such as Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play Store. This integration enables owners to navigate with real-time traffic, access saved locations, and use a curated range of compatible apps, creating an in-car experience that mirrors everyday digital life.

The system also introduces the **Google Gemini AI assistant**, due to be released soon, which will allow natural, conversational, hands-free control without the need to memorise commands. This advancement will enable drivers to ask complex questions and engage in continuous dialogue, further enhancing the user-friendly nature of the system.

The infotainment system offers a **customizable home screen** and intuitive operation, inspired by smartphone usability, for quick access to frequently used features. These updates aim to create a more integrated, user-friendly, and connected vehicle experience that aligns with the digital lifestyles of today's drivers.

The 2026 CX-5 also boasts practical improvements, such as a **half-inch lower cargo load area** for easier loading, and a **half-inch wider and 4.5 inches longer** body, providing more leg room than its predecessors. The door openings are also **wider for easier passenger entry and exit**, adding to the vehicle's comfort and convenience.

In terms of power, the base model of the 2026 CX-5 will launch with 187 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. The crossover uses Google Assistant for native language recognition, ensuring seamless operation.

Mazda has also announced plans to introduce a hybrid powertrain in the CX-5 in 2027, marking the first time Mazda will build a hybrid powertrain in-house. This hybrid version is expected to offer more power and improved MPG.

The 2026 CX-5 retains the 2.5-liter engine from 2025 in both turbo and non-turbo versions. Customers can also choose from a variety of accessories for easier cargo management.

Since its introduction in 2013, the CX-5 has been Mazda's best-selling vehicle in the U.S., with over 1.6 million units sold in America. The 2026 model promises to build on this success, offering a blend of innovation, comfort, and practicality that is sure to appeal to a wide audience. The 2026 Mazda CX-5 will be on sale early next year.

In addition to the technological advancements, the 2026 Mazda CX-5 offers enhancements in the realm of car maintenance, introducing a hybrid powertrain in 2027, marking Mazda's first in-house built hybrid powertrain for a car. Furthermore, this new model aligns with contemporary lifestyles, featuring electric vehicles, as Mazda plans to expand its electric vehicle portfolio in the near future.
