Emergency services of the future revealed by Renault with the introduction of the Vision 4Rescue vehicle.
Renault Unveils Vision 4Rescue: An Integrated Tech Ecosystem for Faster and Smarter Emergency Responses
Renault has launched Vision 4Rescue, an innovative technology ecosystem designed to revolutionise emergency response services. This initiative, unveiled at VivaTech 2025 in Paris, is a joint effort between Renault and six European partners, developed in collaboration with three French firefighting units.
At the heart of this ecosystem, the Renault 4 E-Tech takes centre stage, reimagined as a mobile command post. Built on the same AmpR Small platform as the 5 E-Tech, the 4 E-Tech is equipped with secure communications, embedded AI, and digital firepower to act as a roaming HQ during critical incidents.
The Vision 4Rescue system employs vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications and embedded emergency alerts to keep responders connected. Dassault Systèmes provides simulation capabilities, HawAI.tech offers tactical planning, and Atos contributes to crisis modeling within the system.
To ensure seamless connectivity, Orange's hybrid 5G and mesh networks are integrated into the ecosystem. STMicroelectronics' electronic sensors detect anomalies across urban and rural areas, feeding data into AI systems for coordinated response.
JCDecaux designed connected street furniture serves as launchpads for drones and information hubs for the public. Short- and long-range drones by Parrot and Thales are integrated into the ecosystem, providing aerial surveillance. A connected SOS backpack is also part of the system, maintaining communication during emergencies when infrastructure is compromised.
The broader aim of Vision 4Rescue is to break down silos between devices (vehicles, drones, smart furniture, and satellite links) to provide responders with a seamless, real-time view of the situation. This initiative is a part of Renault's efforts as a founding force behind Software République, demonstrating their commitment to leveraging technology for the greater good.
Vision 4Rescue is being demonstrated at VivaTech until June 14, showcasing real-world use cases for floods, wildfires, and urban emergencies. The full rollout timeline for Vision 4Rescue has not been disclosed yet, but it's clear that Renault is evolving its EVs from personal mobility solutions into mission-ready platforms for public service.
This ecosystem, designed to tackle today's emergency challenges, including climate disasters and medical callouts, with sharper precision and tighter coordination, is a testament to Renault's forward-thinking approach to technology and public service. The Open 112 coalition, involving the French car brand Renault and other partners, is driving this innovation, aiming to create a safer and more responsive world.
