Electric vehicle manufacturer Ultraviolette announces extension of introductory price offer on their premium model, Shockwave, following positive customer responses and increased bookings.
In a groundbreaking move, Ultraviolette, a Bangalore-based electric vehicle company founded by Tarun Mehta and Niraj Raj, has introduced the Shockwave - India's first electric enduro bike. This new addition to the market boasts an authentically rugged and athletic appearance, designed for off-road mud plugging.
The Shockwave is built around a new steel frame chassis and features a long-tower style layout. It's suspended by long-travel suspension components, ensuring a smooth ride even on rough terrains. The bike's design includes a single-piece enduro style long seat, an elevated mudguard design, and a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheel configuration.
The Shockwave is powered by a 14.7 bhp mid-mounted electric motor, capable of completing the 0-60 kmph dash in just 2.9 seconds. The bike weighs approximately 120 kg, making it almost 50 kg lighter than its closest ICE-rival, the XPulse 210.
According to IDC, the Shockwave boasts an impressive battery range of 165 km on a single charge. This electric enduro bike is priced at ₹1.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), but the first 1,000 customers can purchase it at ₹1.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Ultraviolette also launched the Tesseract, their most advanced scooter, alongside the Shockwave. For more details about the Tesseract, follow the provided link.
Interestingly, all 1,000 units of the Shockwave were booked within 24 hours, demonstrating the high demand for electric vehicles in India.
