In the heart of the bustling UK, where the writer resides, riding a personal e-scooter on public roads remains illegal. However, the government is working towards changing this, and the writer, like many others, is eagerly awaiting the revolution.

One brand that has caught the writer's attention is Pure Electric, a UK-based company known for its innovative e-scooters. Their range includes both forward-facing and traditionally designed models, each offering a unique riding experience.

The forward-facing design of Pure Electric's e-scooters, such as the Escape Pro, is particularly appealing. According to Pure's founder, Adam Norris, this design is more natural as it mimics the way people naturally stand. This makes for a more stable and approachable stance, making the e-scooter easier to handle.

Another model from Pure Electric is the Pure Flex, a compact, foldable e-scooter that has street approval. Known for its light weight, strong battery, and comfort suspension, it's an ideal choice for those seeking a practical, eco-friendly mode of transport.

The writer is also intrigued by the Air 5 Suspension, another offering from Pure Electric. With its suspension and more traditional riding stance, it promises a smoother ride, even on less-than-perfect surfaces.

As the UK government works towards legalising private e-scooter usage on public roads, the writer is attending events like IFA and CES to test different e-scooters in preparation. The writer is particularly interested in the convenience and ease of storage that e-scooters offer, compared to a bike.

However, the writer has reservations about relying on rental scooters due to their unavailability and potential theft. The writer also expresses concerns about the security of storing a bike outside, and the possibility of it being stolen.

During a recent test at the IFA 2025 test track, the writer found the Air 5 Suspension provided a smoother ride, thanks to its cushioning. Despite the track not being the bumpiest, the Air 5 Suspension proved its worth.

As the UK moves closer to legalising private e-scooter usage, the writer is considering adding an e-scooter to their commute. With companies like Pure Electric offering a variety of models, the choice is exciting, and the writer looks forward to embracing this new mode of transport.
