DT Infrastructure & Samsung C&T Win A$5B Marinus Link Contract
DT Infrastructure, in collaboration with Samsung C&T, has secured a significant contract for the Marinus Link project management. The deal, worth over A$5 billion, covers civil and electrical infrastructure works, including converter stations and 90 km of land cable works. Both parties expressed excitement about the partnership.
The contract, awarded to TasVic Greenlink, a joint venture between DT Infrastructure and Samsung C&T, is set to commence in 2026, subject to necessary approvals. The project management aims to complete by 2030, connecting Tasmania to the national electricity grid.
Samsung C&T Australia's managing director, Scott Choi, highlighted the company's global expertise in HVDC systems. DT Infrastructure CEO, John Anderson, echoed this, expressing his confidence in delivering the project management together. The final contract value is expected to be announced by end-September 2025.
MLPL CEO Stephanie McGregor emphasized the importance of strong local business capability in the successful tenderer. DT Infrastructure's involvement in projects like the Boulder Creek Wind Farm, worth AUD243 million, demonstrates their local prowess. Nearly 600 stakeholders, including over 500 subcontractors and suppliers, have already shown interest, attending industry engagement sessions.
The Marinus Link project management, with a total estimated cost over A$5 billion, is set to commence in 2026. DT Infrastructure and Samsung C&T's joint venture, TasVic Greenlink, will lead the construction, bringing Tasmania's electricity grid into the national network by 2030. The final contract value is expected to be announced soon.
