Dresden's burgeoning startup scene expands with the arrival of ExciteLab
The city of Dresden is set to become a hub for high-tech startups, with the launch of the ExciteLab accelerator program next year. Scheduled to begin in October 2024, the ExciteLab is a joint initiative by the Leipzig SpinLab and the Technical University of Dresden, and is part of TUD|excite - the Center of Excellence for Innovation, Transfer, and Entrepreneurship of the TU Dresden.
The ExciteLab aims to drive the overall competitiveness of the region by bringing science and industry together more effectively. It focuses on key technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), semiconductors, robotics, sensors, and quantum computing.
The six-month accelerator program offers a range of benefits to participating startups. These include funding of 6,000 euros or more, one-on-one mentoring, access to the startup community and partner networks, and reduced fees for industry events. Exciting pilot programs are also part of the package.
The ExciteLab is expected to make Dresden more attractive, especially for younger companies. It is supported by leading companies such as Infineon, Mazars, and ZEISS, and is designed to increase the attractiveness and visibility for international talents and investors.
Applications for the ExciteLab's accelerator program are being accepted until August 27, 2024. The deadline for applications is fast approaching, so startups interested in participating are encouraged to apply promptly.
The ExciteLab is a significant step in Dresden's development as an economic and innovation hub. By providing support and resources to high-tech startups, it is expected to foster a vibrant and innovative ecosystem that will benefit the city and the region as a whole.
