Disney and ITV Form Strategic Alliance for Shared Streaming Content

In a groundbreaking move, The Walt Disney Company and ITV have announced a streaming content partnership in the UK, set to broaden audience reach for both streaming services. Under this collaboration, Disney+ subscribers in the UK will gain access to ITV's award-winning dramas, reality series, and immersive shows, while ITVX viewers will be able to stream a rotating selection of Disney+ titles.

Beginning July 16, a curated selection of hit series and films from both platforms will be accessible on each other's platforms, at no additional cost to subscribers. This content-sharing initiative, branded "A Taste of ITVX" and "A Taste of Disney+", includes a variety of popular and critically acclaimed shows.

On Disney+, ITVX subscribers can enjoy the first season of the critically acclaimed FX series "The Bear", the first season of the Lucasfilm series "Andor", and the first season of the comedy-mystery series "Only Murders in the Building". Reality enthusiasts will find "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" and "The Kardashians", while families can enjoy timeless favourites like "Lilo and Stitch: The Series" and "Phineas and Ferb".

Meanwhile, Disney+ subscribers will have access to ITV's "Mr. Bates vs The Post Office", an award-winning drama, as well as seasons of the reality hit "Love Island". They can also stream popular drama series such as "Endeavour", "Vera", and the first series of "Karen Pirie", which coincides with the second series on ITVX. Documentary series like "Price of Perfection" and entertainment formats like "The 1% Club" are also part of the collaboration.

The partnership is a testament to the long-standing relationship between the two entertainment organisations. It also marks a significant step in their strategic efforts to discover and collaborate with co-production partners, active post-production and VFX companies, and top distributors and content rights-holders.

Production Finance, Sales Leaders, and CXO Leadership use the website for co-production partner discovery, while technology sales teams scan for potential post-production and VFX companies. Strategy teams monitor competitive upcoming slates and licensing activities, and content acquisition leads find regional content and their distributors.

Animation Production Leadership uses the website to find co-production partners, profile their preferences, and vet them. Sales and Business Development teams use the website for lead qualification and enrichment, and global teams across three continents find new projects to pitch. Development teams use the website to find trending IP and competitive slates, while distribution teams use it to find new licensees and new deals by existing partners.

Finally, CXO Leadership finds indie studios to acquire and top distributors and content rights-holders. This collaborative approach is designed to expose the world-class content of both ITV and Disney to complementary audiences, thereby enhancing the streaming experience for subscribers on both platforms.

In the scope of this strategic partnership, finance leaders might utilize technology to explore potential collaborations with top distributors and content rights-holders, such as ITV and Disney. During this alliance, business ventures in the realms of animation, drama, reality, and entertainment will be fostered, blending the dynamic worlds of technology and media.
