Digital payment solution unveiled by SHB at Banking Modernization Meeting
Ha Noi - Vietnamese commercial joint-stock bank, Saigon-Hanoi Commercial Bank (SHB), unveiled its advanced, integrated payment solution to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and senior government officials during the 2025 Banking Digital Transformation event in Ha Noi. The bank's presentation signified its commitment to aiding public service units and leveraging digital innovation to shape the future of financial services in Vietnam.
In recognition of SHB's pioneering efforts, it was invited to present first among banks at the event. The bank emphasized its tailored digital offerings designed for administrative and public sector units, aimed at accelerating digitalization within Vietnam's financial system.
Đõ Quang Vinh, vice chairman of SHB's board of directors and deputy CEO, showcased the bank's integrated payment solution to the Prime Minister and other top-tier officials. The presentation was met with interest, underscoring SHB's prominent position in aligning its transformation strategy with the nation's digitalization priorities.

Guided by a customer-centric approach, SHB is driving digital transformation by integrating sophisticated technologies into its services. Its bespoke solutions cater to public sector units, including hospitals, schools, and government agencies, with the goal of streamlining financial management, reducing administrative burdens, and increasing transparency.
To date, numerous public sector entities across the country, from hospitals to state-owned enterprises, have adopted SHB's digital solutions. The integrated payment system synchs with internal management software, facilitating smooth transactions and financial oversight.
Major hospitals, such as the National Children's Hospital, Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital, National Dermatology Hospital and Hanoi Heart Hospital, are among SHB's partners. Patients can conveniently pay medical fees using QR codes, eliminating the need for cash and decreasing wait times. QR codes are placed at payment counters or printed on medical service slips, allowing payments via any bank's mobile banking app.
Additionally, hospitals utilizing SHB's system benefit from seamless integration with national health data, promoting transparency in accounting and preventing fraud.

Beyond public institutions, SHB continues to refine its digital banking platform for individuals and enterprises. Its SHB SAHA mobile app has continuously evolved, ensuring secure, consistent, and convenient financial transactions across digital channels. Currently, over 98 percent of SHB's customer transactions are conducted online, underlining the strong momentum in digital adoption.
SHB's 'Bank of the Future' initiative aims to incorporate cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence, big data, and machine learning, into all banking processes and services between 2025 and 2026. This project will generate essential advancements in digital service delivery, customer journey digitization, intelligent automation, and data-driven growth, while strengthening SHB's core banking infrastructure and scalability.
Under its 2024-2028 strategy, SHB aims to become Vietnam's most efficient bank, the most loved digital bank, and a top retail bank. It also seeks to be a leading provider of capital and financial services for strategic private and state-owned enterprises operating in green supply chains and national ecosystems.
SHB's transformation rests on four pillars: reform within regulatory and procedural frameworks, people as the driving force, a customer- and market-oriented focus, and advanced IT modernization. The bank's cultural values - integrity, trust, commitment, wisdom, intellect, and vision - serve as guiding principles throughout the journey.
