cutting-edge Powercat Model 76: Embracing the Future with Fusion Technology

Summer 2025 will see the launch of the new WiderCat 76 from Wider Yachts, a smaller power-catamaran model following the success of the WiderCat 92. The hybrid vessel will make its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2025.

Styled by Italian designer Luca Dini, the WiderCat 76 boasts a futuristic profile with reverse-angled bows and an explorer-style windscreen. Despite having only two decks, its impressive maximum beam of over 34 feet provides considerable volume for a yacht of its size.

The spacious stern view is dominated by a large cockpit lounge, combined with fixed bathing platforms on both sides and a hydraulic central tender lift, creating an expansive beach club zone. The saloon provides sufficient space for separate lounging and dining areas, complete with a fold-out sofa from the transom and drop-down balconies extending the deck space further.

While the flybridge is vast and can accommodate multiple seating, sunbathing, dining, and helming areas, it is broken up intelligently to prevent a feeling of emptiness often associated with larger power-catamaran flybridges. The helm is conveniently set in the middle under a wrap-over hardtop, ensuring usability in all weather conditions.

Belowdecks, the lower level features three generous ensuite guest cabins, including a VIP double at the aft end of the starboard hull and another double amidships on the port hull. The port hull also houses the galley and crew mess at the aft end, with another guest double amidships. This layout leaves room for two twin-bunk crew cabins in the forepeaks of both hulls.

Like its larger sibling, the WiderCat 76 features a hybrid diesel-electric drivetrain, offering a more efficient and eco-friendly cruising experience. The yacht boasts a top speed of 13 knots with a predicted range of around 700nm at 11 knots or 1,600nm at eight knots.

The first WiderCat 76 is expected to launch early this summer, with the Cannes Yachting Festival providing a public debut in September 2025.
