In a significant step towards sustainability, Kaufland has announced the installation of new deposit machines at five of its stores across Germany. The locations include Dortmund (Bornstraße), Ludwigsburg (Schwieberdinger Straße), Worms (Schönauer Straße), Ahrensfelde (Landsberger Chaussee), and Leipzig (Kiewer Straße).

The new machines, provided by Tomra, are equipped with the Multi-Feed system, allowing customers to deposit all their bottles and cans at once, a marked improvement over traditional machines. This innovation not only speeds up the process, making it up to five times faster, but also makes it more convenient and attractive for customers.

The TOMRA R2 deposit machines, specifically the "Crystal" version, feature an intuitive, illuminated touchscreen that guides customers through the process. After the bottles and cans have been processed, a deposit receipt is issued.

Kaufland's commitment to modern, customer-friendly deposit return is evident in this innovation. The company has been noted as one of the leading companies nationwide in the use of modern deposit machines. Thomas Løstegaard, CEO of TOMRA Systems GmbH, commends Kaufland for this demonstration of innovation and sustainability.

The deposit machines at these new locations will accept glass bottles in addition to PET bottles and cans. This decision follows positive feedback from customers in Steinheim, Baden-Württemberg, where a test machine was installed last spring and will now remain permanently.

The addition of glass bottles to the TOMRA R2 makes it a comprehensive solution for Germany, meeting all trader requirements and market conditions. The machines automatically sort the bottles and cans, ensuring an efficient and streamlined process.

The Kaufland store opening in mid-May 20XX in Leipzig with the modern Tomra R2 recycling machine is called Kaufland Leipzig-Mitte. These new machines are expected to attract customers and further solidify Kaufland's position as a leader in the use of modern deposit machines.

According to Thomas Løstegaard, the TOMRA R2 deposit machines are a customer magnet for the trade, due to their optimized deposit return process. This innovation is set to revolutionize the recycling process at Kaufland stores, making it more efficient, convenient, and environmentally friendly.
