New Budget-Friendly Android Gaming Device on the Horizon: KONKR Pocket FIT

The world of handheld gaming is about to get a new contender, as AYANEO introduces its budget sub-brand, KONKR, with the upcoming release of the KONKR Pocket FIT. Scheduled to hit the market later this year, the device is poised to offer a high-performance handheld at a budget-friendly price.

The KONKR Pocket FIT is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon G3 Gen 3, a significant upgrade from the Dimensity 8300 chips found in Anbernic's RG557 and RG477M. This new chipset, coupled with a 6" 1080p 144Hz LCD display, a large 8000mAh battery, and improved cooling, promises a gaming experience that rivals flagship devices.

While exact pricing has not been officially revealed, it is speculated that the KONKR Pocket FIT will retail for around $250 to $300. This range would undercut the AYANEO Pocket S2 and S2 Pro models while providing competitive performance with premium features.

The market for budget-friendly Android handheld gaming devices is currently dominated by Retroid and Anbernic. The Retroid Pocket Classic, for instance, is the first handheld to use the Snapdragon G1 Gen 2. The KONKR Pocket FIT, with its use of the newer Snapdragon G3 Gen 3, could shake up this market.

However, the market positioning of the KONKR Pocket FIT is unclear, as it is more expensive than budget-friendly Android handheld gaming devices like Retroid and Anbernic, but not as high-performing as the AYANEO Pocket S2 and S2 Pro. Its success will likely depend on its ability to offer a compelling value proposition to attract consumers.

In the meantime, shipping has already started for the AYANEO Pocket S2 and S2 Pro, but prices will increase to $499 and $619, respectively, after the Indiegogo campaign concludes. The AYANEO Pocket DS, not the Pocket FIT, has generated more excitement among the products announced this week.

As we await the official pricing and release date of the KONKR Pocket FIT, it's clear that the budget-friendly Android handheld gaming market is heating up. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new device.
