Clear Angle Studios Partners with Robot Air in South Africa
Clear Angle Studios, a leading provider of 3D scanning services for major studios such as Disney, Lucasfilm, Marvel, Netflix, and Universal, has expanded its global network with the addition of a new hub in South Africa. The collaboration with local specialist scanning company, Robot Air, based in Cape Town, aims to provide seamless access to high-end 3D capture services for characters, environments, props, and costumes in the region.
The partnership, according to Dominic Ridley, co-founder of Clear Angle Studios, is due to Robot Air's proven expertise, commitment to excellence, and incredible team. This collaboration marks Clear Angle Studios' entry into Southern Africa and will leverage Robot Air's extensive logistical network, local knowledge, and on-the-ground operational excellence.
The South African hub, already serving multiple high-profile projects since the opening of its Culver City studio in December 2024, is the latest addition to Clear Angle Studios' existing network of hubs in London, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Vancouver, and Budapest. The partnership also aims to provide additional training for local talent and establish a dedicated hub to serve the region's film production landscape.
The country, offering various financial incentives for local productions, provides an ideal location for this collaboration. Clear Angle Studios will bring its global experience to Robot Air, training the South African team in their signature systems and workflows. The new South African hub offers unprecedented access to Clear Angle Studios' suite of services, including character scanning, LiDAR scanning, environment capture, prop scanning, and costume scanning.
