CEO Nelson Korshi of Korba shares insights on achievement, music's role in life, during his interview on Y Leaderboard Series.
Ghanaian Information Systems Engineer and CEO of Korba, Nelson Korshi Da Seglah, graced the Y Leaderboard Series, a youth-focused radio program, for an illuminating discussion on life experiences, the secret to success, and the transformative impact of music.
Raised in a family of eight, Da Seglah revealed that he was the firstborn child of his mother. His educational journey commenced at the renowned Hope School in Lartebiokorshie, Accra, before he transitioned to Mawuli Secondary School for secondary education. He later graduated from the University of Ghana with a double major in Computer Science and Physics.
Da Seglah's family was conservative yet open-minded, with his father having aspirations for him to follow his path as a lawyer. However, Da Seglah's affinity for Mathematics redirected his career trajectory. His father eventually conceded and allowed him to pursue his passion.
"Even on his deathbed, he believed in me, and I remember him telling me I still had to pursue law," Da Seglah reminisced.
Da Seglah characterized his family as inherently strict and disciplined. He emphasized the importance of seizing opportunities to grow personally and achieve dreams by incorporating various life experiences, both successes and challenges, like the components in a well-prepared soup. This culmination of different tastes results in an exquisite flavor, just as hardships and victories pave the way to success.
He encouraged young people to focus their energies on personal development and embrace every chance to build their skills and talents. "I learned that no experience is a bad experience, so everything adds up as there is a reason why we go through everything we do," he stressed.
Reflecting on music, Da Seglah believed that its diverse components harmoniously combined to create beautiful melodies. Similarly, he viewed the highs and lows of life as analogous to the different parts of a symphony, interwoven to provide a rich and fulfilling existence.
