Cash deposit options get a significant boost with Lloyds and PayPoint's latest innovation: the launch of the 'Barcode Cash Deposit' app feature, granting customers greater flexibility in managing their funds.
PayPoint locations offer a wide range of services, making them a convenient choice for everyday transactions. With over 99.5% of the UK population living within a mile of a PayPoint store, these local retail points are easily accessible[1][2][3]. Many of these stores are open long hours, seven days a week, providing flexibility for customers[2][3].
For Lloyds Banking Group customers, including Lloyds Bank, Halifax, and Bank of Scotland, PayPoint locations have become a valuable addition since August 26, 2023. Now, customers can make cash deposits of up to £300 per day (notes and coins), with a total monthly deposit capped at £600[1][2][3]. This service is available through a feature in the Lloyds mobile app, where customers generate a barcode in the 'Everyday' section of the app. The barcode can be scanned at any of the over 30,000 PayPoint locations nationwide to make a cash deposit[1][3].
The barcode is valid for two hours, ensuring secure and timely processing[3][4]. Customers can take advantage of this fast and convenient alternative to branch visits, with deposited funds appearing in their bank account within minutes.
In addition to cash deposits at PayPoint stores, Lloyds customers can also:
- Pay in cash at Lloyds, Halifax, and Bank of Scotland branches
- Use Lloyds cash-in and cash-out machines across the UK
- Visit Banking Hubs operated in partnership with the Post Office for counter services
- Access banking services including paying in and withdrawing cash at over 11,500 UK Post Offices[2]
These multiple channels reflect Lloyds Banking Group’s commitment to enhancing customer convenience and access to cash services throughout the UK[2].
The Lloyds mobile app, with its latest technology, ensures customers and their money are kept secure[5]. The app offers a range of features, including card controls, subscription management, credit score checking, cheque deposits, card management, limit spending, account management, everyday offers, Save the Change®, and a benefit finder[6]. Customers can even request money from friends and family, manage subscriptions, and view all accounts and products in one place.
With the new mobile app feature, Lloyds Banking Group customers now have even more options for managing their finances conveniently and securely.
