Cancellation of Equity, ETP, and Equity Derivatives Trades on Nasdaq Nordic

Nasdaq Nordic, the leading stock exchange in the Nordic region, has yet to announce a resumption of trading activities following a disruption in the INET trading system on July 29, 2025. This technical issue led to the cancellation of trades in cash equities, Extended Exchange Trade Products (ETPs), and equity derivatives for Nasdaq Stockholm, Nasdaq Helsinki, and Nasdaq Iceland.

The incident caused INET to stop disseminating order information via ITCH and GCF feeds at 17:00:08 CET. However, the NLS feed for trade information and trade data via GCF is operating as expected.

As a result of the cancellation, the ETP markets on Nasdaq Helsinki, Stockholm, and Copenhagen have been halted. Nasdaq has been communicating the cancellation of trades to affected members via OUCH and FIX sessions.

Despite the ongoing disruption, Nasdaq is preparing a fix for the technical issue and has identified the root cause. The exchange expects to open markets per normal tomorrow, Wednesday.

It is unclear whether the technical issue will affect other services or markets beyond those already halted. For the most current information, the exchanges would typically announce reopening schedules once technical issues are resolved.

In the meantime, trading activities in the Nordic region appear disrupted, with closures on August 4, 2025, at least for Nasdaq Iceland. Members are advised to stay tuned for updates from Nasdaq regarding the resumption of trading activities.

  1. The disruption in the INET trading system on July 29, 2025, affected not only cash equities but also Extended Exchange Trade Products (ETPs) and equity derivatives, which are common in the finance and technology-heavy industry.
  2. As Nasdaq Nordic prepares to reopen markets on Wednesday, stakeholders are keenly watching to see if the technical issue, which led to the cancellation of trades, will also impact other services or markets beyond equities, ETPs, and equity derivatives.
