Bitkom-ifo Digital Index Shows Positive Trend in August
In a recent report, the Bitkom-ifo Digital Index has shown a positive trend, returning to positive territory with a score of +1.9 points at the end of August. This marks a significant increase of 3.3 points compared to July.
The digital marketing industry is more optimistic compared to the overall economy, with business expectations and the business climate both showing improvement. However, business expectations for the rest of the year in the IT and telecommunications sector are still not above the zero line, currently at -3.1 points.
The business situation in the overall economy is assessed at -3.1 points, while the business situation for many companies in the IT and telecommunications sector stands at a much higher 6.9 points at the end of August, up from 0.4 points in July.
Dr. Ralf Wintergerst, the current Bitkom President, stated that business in the IT and telecommunications sector is running well for most companies, but there is still a lack of confidence that this will continue until the end of the year. He emphasized that much of the future depends on whether the federal government reduces burdens and regulation and presents an ambitious modernization agenda for my business.
