Best Achievable CPU Cooler Unavailable in U.S.A.: DeepCool Assassin VC Elite Evaluation
DeepCool's Assassin VC Elite, a new addition to the company's lineup of PC cooling solutions, has been making waves in the tech world. Despite a ban on selling DeepCool products in the United States since 2024, the Assassin VC Elite is gaining attention for its advanced features.
The Assassin VC Elite boasts an enhanced vapor chamber coldplate and seven copper heatpipes, ensuring efficient heat dissipation. This air cooler is compatible with DDR5 RAM sticks of any size, making it a versatile choice for modern systems.
The cooler includes a bracket adapter for a third fan, enabling users to customise their cooling setup according to their needs. The cooler's fins feature a unique checkerboard matrix design on one side and a jigsaw-style design on the other sides, adding a touch of style to any build.
DeepCool provides a guide on how to apply thermal paste, ensuring a smooth installation process. The cooler supports two modes of operation: Performance and Quiet modes, allowing users to balance cooling efficiency and system noise.
DeepCool also includes its premium DM9 thermal paste with the Assassin VC Elite, and a two-in-one screwdriver with Torx and Phillips support for added convenience. The installation process involves applying the backplate (for Intel CPUs), installing standoffs, attaching mounting bars, applying thermal paste, securing the cooler, reinserting the middle fan, reattaching the cover, and connecting PWM cables to the motherboard.
The testing configuration for AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D includes MSI Ventus 3X RTX 4070Ti Super GPU, MSI X870E Carbon Wifi motherboard, and MSI MAG Pano 100R PZ case, along with Iceberg Thermal IceGale Silent system fans. A recent addition to the testing configurations is the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D setup, which uses an Intel Core i7-14700K CPU, ASRock Steel Legend Radeon 7900 GRE GPU, MSI Z790 Project Zero motherboard, and MSI Pano 100L PZ Black case.
To prevent bending from impacting cooling results, a Thermalright's LGA 1700 contact frame has been installed in the testing rig for both configurations. The cooler's packaging includes the heatsink with fans pre-installed, mounting accessories, a screwdriver, and other accessories, making it easy for users to get started with their builds.
Although DeepCool's products are currently banned from the U.S. market, the Assassin VC Elite air cooler, along with other innovative cooling solutions, continues to be a popular choice for PC enthusiasts worldwide.
