Awarding spectacular achievements in 3D printing: TCT Awards 2025 honorees revealed

In a grand ceremony held on Wednesday, 4th June 2025, at the National Conference Centre, Birmingham, the TCT Awards 2025 celebrated the most innovative and pioneering achievements in the additive manufacturing industry. The event, sponsored by ASTM International, Massivit, 3T AM, and Globus Metal Powders, brought together over 200 industry professionals.

The evening was filled with excitement as the winners of eleven technology and applications awards, the Women in 3D Printing Innovator Award, the Sanjay Mortimer Rising Star Award, and four new Inductees to the TCT Hall of Fame were announced.

The TCT Hall of Fame inductees for 2025 were Neil Hopkinson, Sheku Kamara, Todd Grimm, and Wilhelm Meiners. Wilhelm Meiners, the only identified inductee to the 2025 TCT Hall of Fame, was recognised for his continuous development of Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) technology alongside his team, advancing the field of additive manufacturing. In the Technology Awards category, Fringe qualification, which provides tracking and analysis for quality control management across entire fleets of metal AM machines, was the winner. The software was highly commended for its potential to revolutionise the industry. e-Stage for Metal + by Materialise was also highly commended in this category.

The TCT Materials Award was won by Lithoz GmbH for their pioneering use of lignin as a carbon feedstock. This innovation is expected to significantly reduce the environmental impact of additive manufacturing.

In the Consumer Product Application Award, Kibu headphones stood out for their innovative design and functionality. The TCT Aerospace & Defence Application Award went to the Mako missile, while the TCT Automotive & Rail Application Award was awarded to the WAAM suspension strut tower.

The TCT Healthcare Application Award was won by the Zeus Hybrid Robotic Cell, which merges AM and CNC post-processing, offering a solution for complex medical components. The 3D printed ceramic subperiosteal jaw implant, which eliminates bone grafts and reduces healing time by 75%, was highly commended in this category.

The innovation creating tactile learning models for the visually impaired using 3D printing was also highly commended. The Simulation Book For The Blind won the TCT Creative Application Award, recognising its potential to transform education for visually impaired individuals.

The Hardware Award - Non-Polymer Systems was presented to hybrd.AM for their cutting tools, while Rapid Fusion was the entrant for the TCT Hardware Award - Polymer systems Award. The TCT Post-Processing Award was won by DLyte TurboFlow, which enhances AM finishing.

The TCT Women in 3D Printing Award was won by Jonné Messer, recognising her significant contributions to the industry. The Sanjay Mortimer Rising Star Award was presented to Abigail Duckworth, a promising young professional in the field of additive manufacturing.

The TCT Awards 2025 was a night of celebration for industry achievements in technology innovation and pioneering applications from the last 12 months. The event highlighted the rapid advancements in additive manufacturing and the promising future of the industry.

Digital health applications progressed within the industry as the Zeus Hybrid Robotic Cell, merging additive manufacturing (AM) and CNC post-processing, won the TCT Healthcare Application Award. Meanwhile, femtech news emerged with a 3D printed ceramic subperiosteal jaw implant, which significantly reduced bone grafts and healing time, receiving a commendation in the same category. Technology continues to revolutionize various industries, with 3D printing playing a crucial role.
