ASUS ROG's Xbox Ally X Gets Official Storage Solutions From SanDisk and Western Digital
ASUS ROG's upcoming Xbox Ally X, a handheld gaming PC, has received official storage solutions from SanDisk and Western Digital. These include NVMe SSDs and microSD cards, offering ample storage options for the ergonomic device.
The Xbox Ally X, a beefed-up variant of the ROG Ally, won't require a microSD card for storage, thanks to its internal storage. However, for those seeking additional storage, SanDisk offers 'officially licensed' and 'exclusive' microSD cards and SSDs. The WD_BLACK SN7100X NVMe SSD comes in 2TB ($159.99) and 4TB ($279.99) variants, while the SanDisk microSD Card offers 512GB ($69.99), 1TB ($149.99), and 2TB ($299.99) options.
SanDisk's exclusive SSD variant comes with a 1-month trial of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which could sway buyers if a rival drive is pricier than a month's subscription. The WD_BLACK SN7100X is a standard M.2-2280 SSD, matching its existing WD_BLACK SN7100 PCIe Gen 4 drive in specs. The Xbox Ally X, resembling an Xbox Series X|S controller, is a partnership between ASUS ROG and Xbox.
With the Xbox Ally X's fair price tag and these licensed storage solutions, users can enjoy ample storage for their gaming needs. The availability of these SSDs and microSD cards provides comfort for future upgrades, making the Xbox Ally X an attractive handheld gaming PC option.
