Aston Martin Unveils DB12 S: More Power, Faster Shifts, Enhanced Handling
Aston Martin has unveiled the DB12 S, an enhanced version of its 2025 DB12, offering more power and performance. This comes at a time when competitors like Ferrari and Bentley are also introducing new models.
The DB12 S boasts a 692bhp engine, a 21bhp increase from the standard DB12. This power boost, coupled with a revised throttle pedal, ensures a smoother driving experience. The car's transmission has also been recalibrated, allowing for 50% faster shifts and a quicker 0-62mph time of 3.5 seconds.
The DB12 S also sees improvements in its chassis dynamics. Software changes to the Bilstein DTX dampers provide better roll and pitch control, enhancing overall handling. Despite these upgrades, the DB12 S maintains the same top speed of 202mph and torque of 590lb-ft, now available across a wider rev range of 3000rpm to 6000rpm.
The DB12 S marks the first step in Aston Martin's ongoing improvements to the DB12. With increased power, quicker shifts, and enhanced handling, the DB12 S offers buyers more choice and a clear hierarchy within the Aston Martin range. This comes at a strategic time, as competitors like Ferrari and Bentley also introduce new models.
