Secures $200,000 in Pre-Seed Capital for Establishing AI Infrastructure Across Africa Through Yamify

Artificial Intelligence pioneer, Yamify, secures pre-seed financing of $200,000 to establish AI infrastructure across Africa.

Yamify, a developer-focused AI platform, has successfully secured a pre-seed funding round of $200,000. The platform is dedicated to fostering AI innovation across Africa.

Yamify's unique approach centers around operating as an "app store for AI tools combined with local GPU-powered server infrastructure." This model allows freelancers, startups, and web agencies to deploy AI applications quickly and affordably from GPU clusters hosted in local African data centers, such as those in Nigeria, Congo, and South Africa.

The funding will be used to accelerate Yamify's mission and launch the Model Context Protocol (MCP), a tool designed to help users quickly turn ideas into functional AI prototypes.

Founded by Luc Okalobé, a former Silicon Valley engineer with experience at IBM and TikTok, Yamify is part of Google for Startups and Nigeria's Itana Free AI Zone. The platform supports applications like n8n and AI-powered WordPress.

Yamify's community-led, developer-first model embeds itself within hackathons, developer communities, and universities to foster grassroots and hands-on AI innovation across Africa. The platform also leverages open standards and local billing solutions to make AI more accessible.

By hosting clusters locally, addressing data residency, compliance, and performance issues are addressed. Pricing in local currencies such as naira, M-Pesa, or MTN MoMo removes cost barriers created by dollar-denominated SaaS fees.

The platform allows for one-click deployment of AI environments and applications on GPU-powered clusters, enabling businesses and freelancers to quickly launch AI solutions.

Yamify has secured over 1,500 developers and startups on its waitlist since entering private beta in July 2025. Major African tech hubs with developers and startups on Yamify's waitlist include Lagos and Johannesburg.

The funding round was partially funded by early Paystack backer Felix Anane, who committed $100,000. Yamify is organizing hackathons and workshops to support developers and help Africa become a leader in responsible AI adoption.

Luc Okalobé, Yamify's founder, emphasized the company's vision: "Africa should not wait to be included in the AI wave - we should build it." With this funding, Yamify is well-positioned to make that vision a reality.
