Apple TV App Launches Globally, Brings AirPlay 2 to Samsung TVs
Apple has rolled out its new TV app today, bringing a host of features to iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV users across over 100 countries. The app requires iOS 12.3 or tvOS 12.3 and promises a seamless viewing experience.
The Apple TV app now supports AirPlay 2, allowing users to beam content directly from their iPhone, iPad, or Mac to compatible smart TVs. Samsung owners can enjoy this functionality immediately, as AirPlay 2 is now enabled on their AirPlay 2-enabled smart TVs.
Later this year, users can expect AirPlay 2 and HomeKit support on eligible VIZIO, LG, and Sony smart TVs. Additionally, all 2019 Samsung smart TVs and select 2018 models come with the Apple TV app pre-installed, providing a convenient viewing experience right out of the box.
The new Apple TV app brings enhanced functionality and wider compatibility, with AirPlay 2 and HomeKit support expanding to more smart TV brands later this year. Users can enjoy a more integrated and convenient viewing experience across their Apple devices and compatible smart TVs.
