Apple Rolls Out Critical iOS Updates for Older and Newer iPhones

Apple has rolled out two significant iOS updates on Monday, Sept. 30, addressing a critical security concern. iOS 18.7.1 is available for select older iPhones, including the iPhone 13 series and iPhone 14 series, while iOS 26.0.1 is ready for iPhones from 2019 onwards, including the upcoming iPhone 15 series and the iPhone 16e model.

The updates, iOS 18.7.1 and iOS 26.0.1, patch a vulnerability in FontParser that could cause app crashes and memory corruption. Users of iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR must update to iOS 18.7.1 for protection.

Besides these models, iOS 18.7.1 is also available for a wide range of iPhones, including the iPhone 11 series, SE (2nd and 3rd gen), iPhone 12 series, iPhone 13 series, iPhone 14 series, and the upcoming iPhone 15 series. For users of more recent iPhones, iOS 26.0.1 is the recommended update.

Apple's swift response with iOS 18.7.1 and iOS 26.0.1 ensures that users of both older and newer iPhones can protect their devices from the FontParser security concern. Users are advised to update their iOS versions accordingly.
